Marcus Smart is the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics – a bulldog with no back down ready to go toe-to-toe with the reigning MVP of the league and a dude that has 8 inches and 20 pounds on him. Side note: HE ONLY HAS 20 POUNDS ON SMART, what a bitch. It seems like any time Marus gets matched up with a Superstar he gets in their head and agitates the shit out of ’em and causes them to make mistakes. It’s inevitable. They let Marcus live rent-free in their heads. Beautiful.
Last night Marcus and Giannis got locked up and hit the floor during the 4th quarter in a game where the Celtics had come back from down 19 points to take a 10 point lead. The Bucks were starting to cut into the deficit and Smart just mentally locked up the arguably best player in the league. Giannis was CLEARLY frustrated that the Celtics had been able to contain him all night (he finished with an impressive 22pts 15reb on the night, but was held as in-check as they could).
Marcus Smart gives zero fucks about your MVP award, Giannis. He had one of the best games I’ve seen him have in a Celtics game, single-handedly making sure the game didn’t get out of hand in the 2nd quarter with his 8 points and timely three-pointers. He finished up with 19pt 4reb 6ast and one LOUD steal.
Tonight is a big test against the Milwaukee Giannis’s and I couldn’t be more excited to see what the new-look Celtics do against the biggest threat in the East.
To beat the Bucks, they need to contain Giannis. Let’s be real – the Greek Freak is unstoppable, but if they can limit his damage and make the rest of the squad beat ’em the Celtics can pull out a win. So, how does one stop Giannis? Grant Williams.
Last night the Celtics had a HUGE win over the Milwaukee Bucks, 117-113. They did so by launching a crazy amount of threes, breaking the franchise record for three point attempts (55) and three pointers made (24). They almost broke the NBA single game record (25). It was a crazy shooting night…
In just a bit over an hour the Celtics face another tough test this season with the Milwaukee Giannis Antetokounpos coming to town.
This dude has taken a leap this season. He’s been a monster the past two seasons, but this year he’s increased his rebounding (14.2) and playmaking (5.7) while maintaining a casual 25 ppg scoring clip. One of the best players in all of basketball…and he’s 23. What the fuck? He could get EVEN BETTER and he’s already a strong MVP candidate.
